| Wow, how long has it been since I wrote on this thing? Does anyone even check this anymore? Well, a lot has happened since my last entry. I graduated a few weeks ago, finished student teaching a week late, and got my first job just this week. I'm going to be teaching at a middle school in Hendersonville starting in August. I'll be teaching 6th grade music appreciation and 7th and 8th grade choir. The school is only two years old, and it is really nice! My principal is awesome and very supportive. It's going to be a great place to start out and build a choral program how I want it to be built.
I also got a summer job at Hecht's, but I don't think I'm ever going to start because they keep pushing back training me. That's ok, because I'm really liking being lazy and doing whatever I feel like, gosh. I also got a job working with 2nd-4th graders for 2 weeks in June at a music camp in Franklin. I don't really know about working with that age group, but they're paying me really well, so I'll like it no matter what :)
So that's basically my life right now. Things are going excellently (is that a word?) If anyone wants to hang out this summer, let me know. I'll be in Hendersonville, but I don't mind coming to the 'Boro or meeting in Nashville!
P.S. That little puppy up there now weighs 40 pounds! They grow up so fast...
| I have been sucked into facebook. It's really hard to keep up with both of these. I'm student teaching in Franklin now, and it's going really great. Except for getting up at 5:00 a.m. I'm now fully recovered from the whole surgery thing mentioned in my last post, I'm just really tired a lot. In fact, I'm gonna go to bed. Nite! | | |
| This will be my last post before I go under the knife. I'm going home tomorrow and I'm going to stay in Hendersonville until I am all recovered. My surgery is at 8:00 on Tuesday morning, and if you are awake, please pray that I wake up with a very small incision as opposed to a very large one. Large incision = student teaching next semester. I don't want that, I want to graduate and get a job!!
Can I just say that I love teaching high school. I was really unsure as to what age level I wanted to teach, but I know now for sure that I could pull off teaching high school. The kids are so much fun, and when they're in high school, they're in choir because they want to be, not because they have to be. That is a great thing because they actually want to sing and participate in the class because it's something that they love. I'm going to miss Riverdale while I'm out, I just hope that I get to go back. There really are some talented, intellegent and fun kids in the choir classes.
I guess that's it, I'll post again when I get back to the Boro, but who knows when that will be. On a happy note, Will's coming to see me next weekend. Yay. Alright I've got to go eat something for dinner. I'll miss all you MTSU people the next couple of weeks!
| I hate the Patriots. Dynasty my ass!
On a side note, yes the personality of my dog is much more like Bart than Milhouse. Unfortunately, I already had a pet Betta fish that was named Bart. He lived with me my Freshman and Sophomore years, and then I let him stay at my mom's house when I came back for Junior year and he died. I didn't even get to say goodbye :o( That's ok though, he really didn't have a personality. I thought it would be bad to recycle the name. And I think Milhouse is a good dog name.
I (well actually Will) figured out how to keep Milhouse from biting me. It feels ridiculous, but whenever he bites me, I bark at him. It really works, he hates it and leaves me alone! I don't mind looking stupid to keep from getting eaten. It was getting bad, he drew blood this morning!
I have a doctor's appt. tomorrow at Skyline hospital in Nashville. I wanted to get a second opinion. This doctor said she could do surgery way before the 28th, if she thinks I really need it at all. I will keep you all posted on her opinion. Well, I'm gonna head to bed. Peace out.
P.S.- was anyone else really disappointed at the commercials during the super bowl? I thought they could have been way better.
| WE GOT A PUPPY!!! Sarah couldn't keep him anymore, so I brought him home with me. (Thanks Sarah!) He's almost 9 weeks old, and I named him Milhouse.(come on, I had to have a Simpsons name) He's really hyper, but a good dog, and he is so cute! (As you can see from the picture to your left.) He can already sit and lay down. My only complaint is that he's a biter. I know he can't help it because he's teething, but it starts to hurt after awhile! If anyone knows any good tricks to keep a puppy from chewing on skin, please let me know :o) Well he's sleeping, so it's time for me to sleep too. A Bientot! | | |
